Prof Dr Yi Xiao Yi Xiao was born in Sichuan, in 1973. He received his BS and MS degrees from Tianjin University in 1996 and 1999, respectively. Then he moved to Dalian University of Technology (DLUT) where he received his PhD in 2003 with Prof. Xuhong Qian. After 10 months working as a postdoctoral researcher in AIST, Tsukuba, Japan, he returned DLUT. Since 2010, he is a professor of applied chemistry. He is interested in biological sensors and organic semiconductors based on fluorescent dyes. The research group of Prof Xiao can do synthesis, molecular and cellular biology and fluorescent imaging. Prof Xiao is a supervisor of phD students of two majors: applied chemistry and biochemical engineering.
