From December 19th to 20th, 2017, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus, Rud Kirill, Visited Dalian University of Technology and communicated with teachers and students from BUT-BSU Joint Institute.
On the afternoon of December 19, Wang Hansong, secretary of the party committee of DUT, met with Kirill Rudy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Conference Room 312, the main building. The two sides held in-depth dialogues on cooperation and exchanges in the fields of education and culture. President Assistant Luo Zhongxuan, and leaders from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the International Education Institute, the DUT-BSU Joint Institute and other staff accompanied the meeting.
During the meeting, Wang Hansong said that The Belt and Road Initiative advocated by China has received positive responses from related countries along the road, including Belarus. The multi-level cooperation between DUT and Belarusian State University is a powerful initiative to actively participate in the "Belt and Road” Initiative. We will continue to deepen cooperation with Belarusian cultural and educational institutions, make a contribution to The Belt and Road Initiative.
After the meeting, Ambassador Kirill Rudy held a special lecture entitled Belarus and The Belt and Road Initiative for our teachers and students in the second lecture hall, introducing Belarus's economic, political, cultural and scientific achievements, as well as the interaction and cooperation between the two countries in the fields of high-level exchange of visits, humanities exchanges and economic and trade cooperation.
Kirill Rudy said that the peoples of China and Belarus have a profound friendship. Dalian University of Technology has always maintained a close cooperation with Belarus universities. The two sides not only built the first Confucius Institute in Belarus, but also established the first cooperative school this year – DUT-BSU Joint Institute. He mentioned that The Republic of Belarus is willing to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries. They will push bilateral relations to a higher and better level.
After the lecture, Ambassador Kirill Rudy communicated with teachers and students from DUT-BSU Joint Institute on the construction of the Institute, the development of talents and cooperation on The Belt and Road. The first freshmen of the Institute has a deeper understanding of Belarus and is full of confidence and expectation for the present study and future development.
